Ingenium Engine & Timing Chains

The timing chain is a critical component of the engine's internal combustion system.
It is responsible for synchronizing the rotation of the crankshaft, allowing the engines valves to open and close at the correct time - failure to do so can result in catastrophic engine failure which would then require a replacement engine.

The Ingenium engine is a range of modular engines produced in both petrol and diesel variants. It has a reputation of being a problem engine due to a number of common reported issues such as oil dilution, turbocharger faults, fuel injector issues and timing chain failure.
